So you received a letter.  What now?

First of all, don't panic.  Thousands of taxpayers are selected for further review, or audits each year.  Second, you probably want to consider the benefits of hiring Kalos to handle it for you.  Most taxpayers are unaware of their bill of rights.  You have the right to be represented by an enrolled agent or a CPA during an audit.  You do not have to be present.  And you have the right to know why they are requesting a specific piece of evidence.  Hiring Kalos to represent you will benefit you in more way than one.  Handling this on your own is a huge liability.  Saying the wrong thing can get you in a lot of trouble.  Plus, the stress and worry of an audit is enormous.  We know this.
